Diesel Health Impacts Methodology

The mortality and morbidity data reported in CATF’s Deaths by Dirty Diesel interactive map is derived from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) CO–Benefits Risk Assessment (COBRA) screening model, a software tool estimates the impacts from 2026 diesel engine emissions, including highway and off-highway sectors.
