About
Zitely Tzompa Sosa joined the Methane Pollution Prevention team at Clean Air Task Force in 2022. Zitely performs direct decision-making advocacy for European legislation aimed at reducing methane emissions and supports the Methane Pollution Prevention team by analyzing and interpreting technical and scientific data on methane emissions from the oil and gas industry.
Zitely brings 13 years of technical and scientific experience related to emissions from oil and gas sources. Before joining CATF, Zitely conducted and published scientific research focusing on emissions from the oil, gas, and coal sectors. Previously, Zitely worked at Mario Molina Center based in Mexico City developing air quality guidelines, and climate change strategies that resulted in national and state-wide climate change policies and low-carbon economy regulations.
Zitely holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University.
