Clean Air Task Force welcomes the UK as co-chair of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition
Clean Air Task Force (CATF) welcomes the announcement that the UK will serve as co-chair of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC). This appointment signals the UK’s commitment to tackling short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) such as methane, black carbon, and hydrofluorocarbons. CATF stands ready to support CCAC’s efforts to advance bold, science-driven action that addresses these critical pollutants and delivers tangible benefits for the climate, health, and food security.
Jonathan Banks, Global Director of the Methane Pollution Prevention program at Clean Air Task Force and member of the CCAC’s Board, commented: “The Climate and Clean Air Coalition has consistently demonstrated how international collaboration can drive impactful action on climate pollutants, such as methane. We are confident that the UK’s leadership will further strengthen CCAC’s ability to deliver measurable progress.”
Rebecca Tremain, Clean Air Task Force’s Director of UK Policy, added: “This is an important moment for the UK to reinforce its leadership on the global stage. CATF looks forward to collaborating with the CCAC and supporting the UK’s efforts to advance critical climate solutions that also improve public health and environmental security.”
Clean Air Task Force is a committed partner and founding member of CCAC and will continue to collaborate with the Coalition to pursue near-term climate actions that enhance global well-being.
