Darin Schroeder

Darin Schroeder is the Legal and Regulatory Director for the Methane Pollution Prevention Program at Clean Air Task Force (CATF). He provides unique perspectives to CATF, combining extensive legal and regulatory experience with his science and technical background. Darin collaborates with CATF technical and legal experts to effectively advocate for regulations and policies to reduce methane pollution across the global economy while building relationships and fostering partnerships. Prior to becoming legal and regulatory director, he spent over a decade at CATF providing legal support for the Methane Pollution Prevention Program, primarily focusing on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Bureau of Land Management regulations to reduce methane emissions from the oil and natural gas sector.

Darin brings nearly 20 years of air quality work to CATF. In addition to the methane work at CATF, he also has unique experience as a stack tester, performing compliance testing at various stationary sources throughout the west and Midwest, and as a legal advocate to promote a clean energy transition in Kentucky. He is also an established speaker and media spokesperson on legal and policy issues regarding methane pollution and the oil and gas industry.

Darin received his J.D. from Vermont Law School, graduating with honors, in 2009. He also earned a B.A. from Columbia University in Environmental Sciences. He was born and raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming and now lives in Ithaca, New York.
