About
For the last 16 years, Wibke has been leading successful campaigns on local, regional, and national levels. She has worked for the Michigan House of Representatives, Moms Clean Air Force, Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice and most recently, Sierra Club.
During her time as Deputy Director of the Beyond Coal Campaign at Sierra Club, Wibke helped establish retirement dates for large coal plants, advance just transition initiatives with various communities, and lead the Heartland to a low-carbon and sustainable future. She also launched a rural cooperative campaign focusing on federal funding opportunities within the New Era program.
At Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice (DWEJ), her work focused on energy burden and climate justice issues centering frontline communities. Together with the University of Michigan, DWEJ published the Public Health Action Plan and the Detroit Climate Action Plan with Wibke as a contributing author on both. Translating scientific research and data into community action was a core part of her work portfolio at DWEJ. Other areas of work included state-level energy policy strategy as well as creating and executing strategic engagement, with city residents and the Office of Sustainability was launched.
Her work at Moms Clean Air Force (Moms) focused on air quality issues that affect frontline communities and children most. She established and grew Moms’ Midwest team across eight states before overseeing its national policy work around the Clean Power Plan and state renewable portfolio standards.
She is deeply invested in using her skills to help address the gaps we still have in addressing and mitigating climate change through smart and innovative policies.
