COP29 | Carbon Management Challenge: Scaling carbon management to gigatons

Event Details:

November 16, 2024
12:10 – 13:00

Saudi Pavilion

Host:

Ministry of Energy, Saudi Arabia

About the event

As the world faces climate change, carbon management plays a pivotal role in reducing emissions and removing CO2 from the atmosphere. Despite the critical importance of carbon management strategies, the current global deployment rates remain far below the levels required to meet the 1.5°C target set. To limit global warming to 1.5°C, it is essential that we scale up efforts to reduce and remove at least 1 gigaton (Gt) of CO2 annually. This panel discussion will discuss the urgent need for comprehensive and transformative carbon management strategies, policies, and projects at the global level.
