About
Raphael Carty is an adjunct professor teaching about innovation, disruption, sustainability, and social impact at NYU Stern School of Business. Raphael introduced the first course on climate innovations in 2024, is researching AI applications for climate, and previously taught courses on commercializing disruptive technology, leading innovation, and social impact. Raphael also consults on business strategy, innovation, marketing, and product management. Before joining the NYU faculty, Carty was co-founder and CEO of Callida Energy, a smart building solution startup that promoted sustainability and energy efficiency in commercial buildings. Carty has presented about smart and green buildings at SXSW, SXSW Eco, Maker Faire, and Buildings NY. Starting at HP in Silicon Valley Raphael has 20+ years of leadership experience applying information technology, including VP Marketing of SaaS disruptor DealerTrack (TRAK), CMO & VP Product at cybersecurity pioneer CertCo, Director of Marketing for Networking at 3D graphics workstation category creator Silicon Graphics, and leading the digital transformation of JPM Chase credit card holders.
Raphael holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering from Harvard College and an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard Business School.
