About
Fernanda Ferreira serves as the Director for Agriculture Methane at Clean Air Task Force (CATF). Her work focuses on assessing the feasibility and risk of new technologies and management practices to reduce methane emissions from agriculture, accounting for differences in the scale and geographies of production systems. Fernanda’s work supports CATF’s global policy efforts to dramatically reduce methane pollution from energy, waste, and agriculture.
Fernanda’s experience is a blend of industry, academia, public sector, and management consulting, bringing more than 15 years of experience working with sustainable livestock production and management systems in the U.S. and Latin America. Prior to joining CATF, Fernanda worked for the Brazilian government studying sustainable food animal production systems in the Amazon region. As a professor at University of California, Davis, Fernanda established a prolific research program focused on evaluating the economic feasibility of sustainable farm-level practices for the dairy and beef industries. As a consultant for Bain and Company, Fernanda worked in a variety of projects including evaluating the feasibility of small farmers to assess carbon markets.
Fernanda has a Veterinary degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais State, Brazil, a Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis, and a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Florida.
